Ronnie Wood, Sir Rod Stewart and Sir Tom Jones were some of the rock royalty that attended Jeff Beck’s funeral.

The music legend, who was famous as a member the 1960s rock band Yardbirds and later as the frontman of the Jeff Beck Group, has died at the young age of 78. He had been suffering from bacterial meningitis and was laid to repose at St Mary’s Church in Beddington.

A note he left attached to a bouquet of flowers at the church’s entrance stated that it was a privilege to play alongside a real guitar genius. Rest in Peace. See ya later jeff, Sir Rod Stewart. “(sic)

Jimmy Page, Johnny Depp, and Vic Reeves were among the stars who attended the sad day. Vic used social media to announce that Jeff, the founder of Led Zeppelin, had delivered the “greatest funeral eulogy” and was “the quiet cook.”

He wrote: “Just came home from Jeff Becks funeral. Jimmy Page gave the most moving eulogy. He was speaking about all the guitarists when he said, “Jeff was quiet chief”. He was right. Jeff was the future for guitarists. Jeff will be missed and your music will remain our favorite forever.

Sandra Cash, his wife and rock legend, has survived him. He died peacefully in January. His family requested privacy as they grieve for their “tremendous loss.”
