Ms. Pattison, the first woman to become the head teacher at the highly regarded private school in Surrey, was elected as Headteacher in September last year. She previously served six years as the Headmaster at Croydon High School. Ms. Pattison, her family, George, her chartered accountant husband, and Lettie, their seven-year old daughter, lived in the Headmaster’s home on college grounds. Epsom College won Independent School of the Year 2022. Ms. Pattison described the award as an honor in a tweet. In a podcast, she said that the last few months have brought about significant change in her family. She mentioned that her husband moved and that her daughter started a new school.

Pattison died on February 6, 2023 in the early morning. One of the staff members discovered the bodies at Pattison’s workplace and called the police.
Emma Pattison, 45; her husband George, 39; and their daughter Lettie were both found dead on Sunday at 01:10 GMT. Police stated that the incident was isolated and had no external involvement.
