Gerald Norman Springer (February 13 1944 – April 27 2023) was an extremely multifaceted American celebrity, famous for his roles as a radio broadcaster actor, journalist as a producer, lawyer, and politician.
The man was raised in London, England, during World War II to parents who were refugees fleeing the Holocaust and he was raised within Queens, New York City. After having attended Northwestern University School of Law and becoming a legal professional, Springer began his political career as a campaign manager on behalf of Robert Kennedy’s presidential campaign in 1968.
Springer was an elected council member on his Cincinnati City Council and went on to become the 56th mayor of Cincinnati from 1977 until 1978. He also served as the local news anchor in Cincinnati which led to him winning numerous Regional Emmy Awards for his comments.
But he was most well recognized as the host of the sensational talk show on tabloids, Jerry Springer, which was on air from 1991 to the year the year 2018 and became famous for controversial content.
Springer was also the show’s host on America’s Got Talent from 2007 to 2008, as well as hosting the show in the courtroom, Judge Jerry, from 2019 until 2022.
